Yearbooks came home today, and I’m so pleased with it. My son’s school has only been open for 3 years now, so I realize the yearbook staff are doing a bit of trial and error work in looking for what works best for our school. Each year’s book has been better than the last, and this year I think they really hit their stride. Finally, we’ve got a full-color, hardback book. I think they realized this year that parents will shell out a bit more for a good quality book ($25, as I recall). I’m still a bit irked by the book 2 years ago whose cover came off the day my son brought it home.

One thing I really like about the book is that parents were invited to submit pictures they’d taken throughout the year at school events, field trips, etc for consideration. Of course, I loaded up a flash drive and turned one in. The results? At least 3 great candid shots of my son, and who knows if I’ve missed one or two?
